About the Role: We are seeking a talented, tech-driven, curious and self-motivated Senior Systems Engineer II to support Elsevier Generative AI Platform. You'll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and deployment processes for Large Language Models. Your focus will be on ensuring seamless integration, continuous delivery, and efficient management of Generative AI Services. This will include supporting Kubernetes, as well as many other key services in AWS and Azure. Responsibilities: Collaborate with software engineers, testers, and system administrators to ensure smooth integration of AWS Bedrock and Azure OpenAI services into applications. Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement Set up monitoring, logging and alerting for AI services. Optimize resource utilization, scalability, and performance Develop and maintain infrastructure patterns supporting promotion and deprecation of OpenAI and other LLM models within an API configuration Building and maintaining a set of tools that enable automation for creating and supporting Azure subscriptions and AWS Accounts in a large-scale tenant Improving existing Continuous integration across multiple product pipelines Oversee the day-to-day remediation of critical issues and building processes and efficiencies to eliminate the recurrence of issues Maintain the health and security of infrastructure by monitoring and patching Ability to deliver TIO strategy in partnership with the business platforms needs Requirements: Cloud Administration (Azure & AWS): Manage subscriptions, IAM, roles, and resource governance Azure Deployment & Automation: Use Terraform, ARM templates, PowerShell, and/or Azure CLI for provisioning AWS & Azure AI Service Integration: Configure Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini access Infrastructure as Code (Terraform): Build reusable modules for scalable infra deployment Kubernetes & Containers: Administer AKS/EKS clusters and containerized workloads Scripting & Automation (Python/Bash): Build automation for provisioning and operational workflows CI/CD Engineering: Build pipelines with GitHub Actions or Jenkins for model + infra deployments Networking for AI Systems: Configure VNETs, VPN, private endpoints, DNS, and secure connectivity Security & IAM for AI Workloads: Enforce RBAC, secrets management, and secure model endpoint access Monitoring & Reliability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for cloud and AI services Work in a way that works for you: We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
