Up to £45,000 DOESite based

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Systems Engineer to join our new site-based engineering team at the New Nuclear Build (NNB) at Hinkley Point in Somerset. The position is permanent, full-time, with a 42.5-hour workweek and additional call-out and standby responsibilities, typically working as part of an eight-member dedicated engineering team. There will be an expectation to work flexibly to accommodate the sites shift patterns.

The project will involve working with world-class enterprise electronic security systems and is suitable for experienced candidates as well as those with asolid foundation in electronic security systems and a strong desire to advance their skills and knowledge.

What you will be doing

Attend to reactive fault calls as directed by the team coordinators and/or SeniorSite Engineer, with rectification of fault on first visit being a critical KPI.Carry out a rolling programme of preventative maintenance as scheduled by the team coordinators and/or Senior Site Engineer.Carry out additional installation and commissioning works as directed by team coordinators and/or Senior Site Engineer.Assist Senior Site Engineer and Technical Lead in the pre-production test environment before release into the live environment.Assist the Design Team in conducting surveys around the site for additional works.Accurate collection and recording of site hardware and software configuration information in conjunction with the CAD Engineer.Maintain site stock (spare) levels.Maintain accurate and timely records.Assist the site-based Health and Safety Lead and Project Director inensuring audits are carried out for quality procedures.In conjunction with the Senior Site Engineer and Health & Safety Manager, to assist in the production of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other documentation as required to gain Permits to Work promptlyTo proactively interact with other site-based teams, build a good rapport, and ensure the smooth flow of information to enable the efficient operation of the site.To work in absolute compliance with all site procedures and embrace the customers ‘Zero Harm to People and the Environment mantra.Carry out any additional tasks that may be required.

What we are looking for

A minimum of 5 years of experience installingand/or servicing a broad product base within theelectronic security industry – typically AccessControl, CCTV and Intruder alarm systems.Broad IT knowledge, eg, software installation into Windows Operating Systems, IP-based systems and networking principles.Knowledge of basic electrical principles such as measuring voltage, resistance and current. A basic understanding of electrical components, such asrelays and resistors.Attention to detail is crucial to ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly and procedures are followed within the allotted timeframes.An enthusiastic team player who can work wellunder pressure and maintain a professionalapproach at all times.Comfortable working irregular hours and being on a 24/7 call rota5-year checkable employment history & Right to work in the UK/EU unrestrictedFluent in written and spoken English
