Key Responsibilities: Your Impact in Action
As a Quality Assurance Surveillance Engineer, your day-to-day activities will be critical to maintaining our commitment to excellence. You will:
- Conduct Comprehensive Surveillance: Oversee nuclear fuel product manufacturing to ensure strict adherence to technical specifications set by customers and internal teams.
- Execute Thorough Checks: Perform detailed surveillance across various product areas, including documentation review, gauge verification, sampling, training assessment, customer-supplied product management, traceability, handling, storage, inspection status, product release, certification, and control of non-conforming product.
- Problem-Solving and Process Improvement: Provide expert advice and make crucial decisions regarding non-conforming product, act as a Quality Reviewer for Corrective Action Processes (CAPs), manage documentation, and oversee plant qualifications.
- Maintain Process Integrity: Conduct 'in-process monitoring' and employ 'statistical process control' to guarantee manufacturing parameters remain within defined tolerances.
- Collaborate Internally and Externally: Support internal audits, accompany customer surveillance engineers, and actively participate in customer Quality Meetings.
- Foster Strong Communication: Liaise effectively with manufacturing teams, other departments, and customers and their representatives.
- Drive Corrective Actions: Support the CAP to implement corrective actions and conduct initial quality investigations.
- Uphold Certification Standards: Assist in maintaining certifications to ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards.
- Contribute to Performance Measurement: Aid the Quality Manager in defining, measuring, and improving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across Safety, Quality, Cost, People, and Delivery.
Who Will Thrive in This Role?
We are looking for candidates who possess a strong foundation in engineering principles and a keen eye for detail. Ideal candidates will have:
- An Engineering Degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent experience/knowledge in a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience working within manufacturing as a Quality Engineer.
- Training in manufacturing quality assurance auditing.
- Solid understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Desirable: Registration as a CQI practitioner.
- Ideally: Knowledge and experience in quality/operations management, though strong candidates with alternative backgrounds will be considered.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), trending, and statistical evaluation.
- Demonstrable experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt, Six Sigma).
