We are seeking a Technical Laboratory Manager to join Prof. Len Barbour's research group within the Department of Chemistry, School of Natural Sciences at the University of Lincoln.
This Leverhulme Trust-funded International Professorship project will involve the development and impacts of Dynamic Functional Materials. The programme is structured around the following themes:

Chemistry at Lincoln is ideally equipped to deliver on this research grant, with a range of state-of-the-art equipment for synthetic chemistry, materials characterisation, and advanced functionality studies. The project has been enabled through the development of novel internationally leading facilities based on porosity and crystallography. You will also work closely with other research areas across the university, including, but not exclusively with, the Schools of Natural Sciences and Physical Sciences, the Bridge, and the University’s research themes of Sustainability and Net Zero.
You will have, or will soon obtain, a degree in chemistry and related subjects pertinent to the job role. You should have experience in project coordination, financial management, procurement, and/or research administration, ideally within an academic or scientific environment. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. The position will require specific expertise that combines several of the following:
Procurement and resource management, including ordering chemicals and equipment;Financial oversight, managing grant finances and tracking expenditures;Administrative support, assisting with grant applications, progress reports, and compliance;Logistical coordination, arranging travel for conferences and research visits;Team support, facilitating the recruitment and appointment of postdoctoral researchers;Asset management, overseeing group infrastructure and equipment, and their H&S aspects of compliance and documentation.We welcome informal enquiries about the project, the role, or the university and surrounding area.
