The role

As a Trainer - Machining and Fitting Instructor you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Early Careers Lead, you'll design and deliver work-based training for the Machinist, Fitting and Inspection apprentices and also graduate engineers, as well as acting as their first line manager. No prior training experience is required as we will look to develop you into the role.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely alongside the operation leadership team to assist with professional development training to the skilled workforce.

Instill the highest standards of health and safety in apprentices, reviewing new technology and practices to improve safety. Structure and deliver training to help apprentices gain necessary skills, knowledge, and experience. Apprentices are often in their first professional job; instill good work ethics and Babcock values in apprentices, ensuring professional behavior. Apprentices are often young and inexperienced. You will offer guidance for their wellbeing and escalate where required.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at our Ashton Vale site in South Bristol.

Essential experience of the Trainer - Machining and Fitting

Knowledge in machining, and fitting. Ability to programme CNC machines using various languages
