 About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join the Finance department, a supportive environment where you will understand how your work contributes to the strategic goals of the service and of the University as a whole.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Financial accounts responsibilities will include the Fixed Assets Register, production of the University’s Corporation Tax and VAT returns, cash forecasting and completion of external returns.Management accounts queries will include coordination of the annual budget, production of the monthly management accounts, making accruals and prepayments and responding to accounting queries.Authoritative point of contact for external stakeholders as well as senior administration managers, PVCs and Directors internally in relation to their role.

About You

As Accountant, you will have:

Experience working in a finance setting at an equivalent levelStrong interpersonal skills and excellent technical capability.Ability to develop and enhance computerised management systems, including advanced Excel to create, update and manage workbooks and to analyse and report on dataAbility to organise own personal workload and work effectively under pressure, prioritising whilst meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to produce and articulate, clear and concise reports, policy and business documentsExcellent and demonstrable customer service skills
