The Opportunity: Assistant Cashier

The Assistant Cashier role is pivotal to the financial operations of the division, primarily responsible for overseeing all cash and banking activities. This position demands strong communication skills, as you will be instrumental in fostering positive and effective relationships with both divisional and finance stakeholders, as well as colleagues across their extensive network of care homes.

Key Responsibilities for Growth:

  • Payment Preparation & Submission: Gain experience in managing and submitting out-of-cycle payments, a critical function for smooth financial operations.
  • Remittance Advice Management: Develop your understanding of financial workflows by managing incoming remittance advices.
  • Direct Debit & Standing Order Oversight: Become proficient in setting up, monitoring, and maintaining vital Direct Debit and Standing Order payments.
  • Process Support: Actively assist the Cashiers in the smooth running of the Direct Debit process, deepening your practical knowledge.
  • Resident Monies Handling: Take ownership of the timely and accurate financial management of Resident Monies processes, ensuring precision and compliance.
  • Petty Cash Replenishment: Learn the logistical and financial aspects of arranging for Petty Cash replenishment requests.
  • Bank Account Transactional Management: Support the Cashiers in the transactional management of divisional receipt and expenditure bank accounts, building core banking acumen.
  • Training & Support: Enhance your leadership and communication skills by providing in-house training and support to Care Home colleagues, becoming a go-to resource.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to best practices by being responsible for continual process and procedure reviews, fostering efficiency and innovation.

  • Foundational Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a finance team, will be highly beneficial.
