This role is specifically designed for individuals who have successfully completed their Level 4 AAT qualification and are eager to progress towards their CIMA accreditation. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will work closely with Finance Business Partners to provide crucial financial reporting and analysis, enabling effective business management. You will concurrently pursue your CIMA qualification through a comprehensive 30-month Level 7 Degree Apprenticeship program.

Advantages for Candidates:

  • Comprehensive Training: You will benefit from a structured Level 7 Degree Apprenticeship (CIMA Route) with dedicated training at a local hub (Derby or Nottingham) and support from a personal Learning & Development Mentor.
  • Practical Experience: Gain hands-on experience in a wide range of finance functions, including management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad-hoc financial modeling.
  • Business Acumen Development: Work directly with Finance Business Partners and key stakeholders, attending performance review meetings and contributing to business decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Collaborate with the Solvd. Shared Service Centre, gaining exposure to accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Supportive Environment: Be part of a team that values continuous improvement, with opportunities to document processes and contribute to the team's knowledge base.
  • Company Values: Align with an organization that prioritizes safety, customer service, and doing the right thing, while actively promoting diversity and inclusion.

Key Considerations for Candidates:

  • Commitment to Study: The role requires a dedication to completing a 30-month Degree Apprenticeship alongside your daily responsibilities.
  • Proactive Approach: Success in this role will involve taking initiative, owning specific tasks, and actively seeking to understand and improve financial processes.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication will be essential for liaising with various teams, stakeholders, and the Shared Service Centre.
  • Analytical Mindset: A strong aptitude for numbers, attention to detail, and the ability to perform variance analysis and contribute to financial reporting are crucial.
  • Adaptability: Be prepared to assist with ad-hoc activities and contribute to a dynamic financial environment.
  • Application Process: Ensure you follow the instructions for online application and remove personal details from your CV for blind screening.

This role offers a fantastic pathway for ambitious individuals seeking a challenging and rewarding career in finance. If you are motivated, eager to learn, and ready to make a significant contribution to a leading railway operator, this opportunity at East Midlands Railway is an excellent choice for your career development.
