JOB PURPOSE The Group Chief Accountants Department (GCAD) is the primary custodian for Unilever Group financial & management reporting and Global Financial Controls Framework, manages the global audit relationship with KPMG, determines and ensures adherence to Unilever accounting policies, and many other projects related to how Unilever measures its performance and presents and communicates this to the external world. The Reporting, Accounting and Training Expertise (RATE) team within GCAD focuses on the external accounting and reporting compliance and developments and leads the training agenda for accounting and controls. This role focuses on supporting the whole team and its related activities, such as to ensure that the Group financial statements follow our accounting policies and IFRS, assisting in the publication of the quarterly press releases and Group annual reports and accounts. This role will also be supporting on creating of training material and running of annual Olympiad competition. RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting expertise ⢠Interpretation of new accounting standards and ensuring readiness for application by the Group ⢠Track external accounting developments ⢠Assist in preparation of Audit committee paper for review and approval of Group dividends ⢠Supporting Group Chief Accountant and local teams in preparing and reviewing restructuring business cases ⢠Ad hoc related assignments within GCAD Reporting ⢠Assist in preparation of Group press releases and Group Annual report and accounts on a quarterly and annual basis respectively ⢠Peer benchmarking on various reporting matters such as recent ESG developments, accounting policies. ⢠Assisting in drafting Audit & Assurance Policy (BEIS proposal requirement) ⢠Support in the implementation and post go-live support of automating the reporting process Learning & Training ⢠Support in the creation of training modules for GCAD and wider finance community ⢠Support in preparation and running of Olympiad General ⢠Support the Group audit process ⢠Support the GCAD operations team with technical accounting issues and questions ⢠Active participation in GCAD ongoing and/or new projects, as identified by the Senior Manager of Accounting Expertise or Director of RATE ALL ABOUT YOU ⢠ICAEW/ACCA or a similar qualification ⢠Exposure to IFRS ⢠Experience in finance function â preferably in reporting and accounting (desirable) ⢠High attention to detail and strong work ethic ⢠Good interpersonal skills to build rapport with various stakeholder ⢠(Desirable) Corporate centre experience NOTES Please apply via this portal as e-mail applications may not be processed and include your Future Fit Plan if possible.
