As shift workers, Campus Support staff have their holidays calculated differently to other staff. All shifts are 11 hours long (plus a 1-hour unpaid break) and follow a 4-on, 4-off pattern, the calculation ensures equivalent holiday entitlement in proportion to average shifts worked.
The shift pattern repeats over 8 weeks, during which staff work 28 shifts. This averages to 3.5 shifts per week (28 shifts ÷ 8 weeks). The calculation below applies this ratio to standard holiday entitlement.
