Your Role Gensler's London office is seeking an experienced Compliance Director to lead our document control and compliance operations. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust document management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing quality control processes across multiple projects. This senior leadership role reports directly to the Managing Director. You will have extensive experience in document control and compliance management within the construction industry, with a proven track record of implementing and managing document control systems across large-scale projects. Your expertise in Middle Eastern construction regulations and documentation requirements will be essential. A strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail, you will lead a team of document controllers while working closely with project teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure complete compliance and documentation excellence. What You Will Do Direct and oversee the implementation of document control systems and procedures across all projects Lead the development and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) Establish and enforce document control protocols, ensuring consistency across all projects Oversee the maintenance of all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, submittals, and correspondence Manage regulatory compliance requirements and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained Direct the development and implementation of document naming conventions and filing structures Lead audit preparations and responses for ISO certifications and client audits Oversee the training and development of the document control team Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely document submissions and approvals Manage relationships with regulatory authorities and external auditors Implement and maintain electronic document management systems Develop and monitor KPIs for document control performance Lead the continuous improvement of document control processes and systems Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and international standards Your Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field Minimum 15 years of experience in document control and compliance management, with at least 10 years in senior roles Extensive experience with electronic document management systems (e.g., Aconex, ProjectWise, SharePoint) Deep understanding of Middle Eastern construction regulations and documentation requirements Strong knowledge of ISO management systems Experience with BIM management and coordination Proven track record of leading large document control teams Excellence in developing and implementing document control procedures Strong understanding of construction contracts and documentation requirements Experience with government authority submission processes in the Middle East Excellent communication and leadership skills Professional certifications in document control or quality management preferred This job description reflects the core activities of the role although there will be changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time.
