About the School / Service
The Immigration Compliance Team are responsible for immigration compliance matters across UEL. With increasing international student numbers each year, we are required to monitor and maintain processes to ensure the university complies with & adheres to UKVI requirements. With the annual task of retaining UEL’s BCA licence, we are looking for a Pre-CAS Officer to join our team to support with our compliance activities and to contribute to an efficient and supportive Pre-CAS process.
About the Job
The Pre-CAS Officer will support in maintaining records systems with the outcome of Pre-CAS interviews, the assessments of TB and financial documents, the right to study checks during the enrolment periods and other ad hoc tasks ensuring compliance is maintained. As well as this, the postholder will be required to be able to identify any cases of deception, whether that be fraudulent documents or circumvented interviews. You will be required to translate complex information for a variety of different audiences to ensure a full understanding of decisions and that supporting information is clear. Assessments require the use of multiple IT systems so aptitude to learn and understand IT software is required.
About You
The successful candidate should be an excellent team player who is vigilant in their approach to pre-CAS assessments. They should have an eye for identifying missing or out of place information but also the ability to rectify this. The postholder should have:
Knowledge of the international student application process.Strong organisational skills - as we work across multiple work streams.Positive communication skills both written and verbal for internal and external stakeholders.The ability to adapt quickly to sudden requirement or deadline changes.Must be able to work with conflicting priorities.Ability to meet strict deadlines while under pressure.Benefits Package
