What the day will look like

We seek an experienced and diligent Marine Cargo Claims Handler to join our wider Marine Claims team. This is a key role for a confident professional with a solid background in marine cargo claims, who can take ownership of a varied and sophisticated caseload while delivering a high standard of service to clients and stakeholders. Duties will include

Manage a portfolio of marine cargo claims and bordereaux reporting.Investigate and evaluate claims, determining coverage and liabilityCollaborate with surveyors, adjusters, underwriters, and legal advisers as neededNegotiate settlements in line with policy terms and company guidelinesEnsure accurate and timely reporting in line with regulatory requirementsProvide advice and support to clients and internal teams on claims processes and outcomes

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Experience with Marine Cargo claims handling experience ideally gained from within a reputable insurance or shipping organisationStrong understanding of cargo insurance policies, Incoterms, and relevant legal frameworksExcellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skillsProven ability to manage high-volume caseloads effectively and independentlyFamiliarity with ECF/class systems and claims bordereaux reporting requirements
