Important Considerations for Potential Candidates:

  • Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be GMC registered with a license to practice. Crucially, you must already hold a higher research degree (PhD or MD by research or equivalent) to be considered for this role.
  • Application Process: A critical component of the application is the completion of the NIHR’s supplementary questions. These must be downloaded from the provided link and uploaded to the University’s application system. Applications submitted without these supplementary questions will not be considered.
  • Contract Duration: The post is offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of up to 4 years if full-time, or up to 6 years part-time (pro-rata). The tenure will end upon the award of your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or upon the expiry of the fixed term, whichever occurs first.
  • Start Date: Successful applicants must commence their role before 31 August 2026.
  • Interview Schedule: Please note that interviews are scheduled for 15th December 2025.
