This is a unique opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist role in the urology department at the Cromwell hospital. The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion and willingness to learn, be enthusiastic, autonomous, confident, and have a basic knowledge in urology care of patients. The successful applicant should have excellent communication skills, be comfortable talking about highly sensitive issues and easily build rapport with patients, their careers and consultants. What you'll do: As a Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist, youâll support the continuation of urology services by providing, coordinating and leading high quality, holistic care to patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. You will take responsibility and accountability for supporting a case load of patients through their urology pathways. Act as a central contact point for patients, families, and carers receiving urology care, nurses, the MDT and consultants. Support initiatives to improve services for customers and the growth of urology services at the Cromwell Hospital, and to support developments related to quality and consultant engagement. Run the nurse led clinics and support the consultants with urology outpatient procedures. Support the care of inpatients through nurse teaching, monitoring and overseeing patient care. Support with the development and facilitation of new procedures, techniques, protocols, and policies for the Cromwell Hospital urology services. Function as a clinical caseworker for patients receiving urology care. Support with formal and informal educational initiatives to staff, relatives and carers as needed. Recognise, plan, and instigate a personal programme of development which will benefit both yourself and the wider hospital. Manage the prostate pathway. Work with the link nurses to provide a seamless urology service throughout the hospital. What youâll bring: An active Adult General Adult NMC pin Current Senior nursing experience or Clinical Nurse Specialist in Urology Urology nursing care (inpatient or outpatient setting) Managing patient pathways in urology Evidence of master level learning Prescribing qualification Mentorship or teaching qualification Advanced clinical competencies in urology related nursing Knowledge of current and advancing research, guidelines, and practice in urology nursing Why Bupa?
