Commercial Finance Assistant - Supply Chain

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant – Supply Chain to join the B&M Finance team at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool (L24).

This is a full-time, permanent, office-based role.

We are looking for someone to support the operational financial output of our Supply Chain function. You will play a key role in applying data-driven analysis to help drive cost efficiencies and process improvements.

We need someone who is diligent, organised, and inquisitive - someone who is comfortable challenging, questioning, and resolving anomalies. With existing experience in commercial finance, you will be familiar with working at pace and meeting tight deadlines.

This role is ideal for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual looking to build their career in accountancy, with genuine opportunities for progression in a fast-moving retail environment.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Assist in the preparation of the weekly profit and loss (P&L) forecast Manage the purchase order process and liaise with suppliers to ensure accuracy and efficiency Support month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments Monitor and review costs to ensure financial objectives are met Proactively analyse the operational performance of the supply chain against the plan, supporting General Managers and Directors Assist with ad hoc analysis projects to identify performance risks and opportunities, in collaboration with the Commercial Finance Manager Carry out additional duties as required to support the wider finance team

Skills & Qualifications:

Currently working in a finance position and eager to progress in your accountancy career Ideally qualified or currently working towards a recognised accountancy qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA), but this isn't essential Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Confident in managing relationships with internal teams and external suppliers A proactive, fast learner with a keen interest in developing their finance career and pursuing further qualifications
