The team

This role in our Conversion Team, in the wider Marketing Department, will be at the forefront of our efforts to recruit students who share these core values.
The Marketing Department is part of the wider Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions Directorate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate on the planning and delivery of our conversion activity with colleagues across the wider Marketing Team, Directorate and the University.
As a member of the Conversion team, you will be expected to work independently and manage your workload effectively, proactively communicate with immediate colleagues and fully engage with the wider colleague community.
The role
Our ideal candidate will have experience in creating engaging content across a range of mediums for many diverse audiences.
The successful candidate will use the University’s customer relationship management (CRM) system in their day-to-day activities. Prior knowledge of using a CRM system is highly desirable, but not essential.
Conversion is an essential component of our marketing strategy. The post holder will contribute significantly to our undergraduate enquirer and applicant conversion activity. This includes promotion of the York St John student experience and supporting prospective students through the application process. In addition, they will be involved in delivering conversion activities aimed at postgraduate students. Promotion and the follow up of internal and external events such as Open Days and education fairs is also a key part of the role.
They will support the planning, production and delivery of conversion content primarily using email marketing. The role will also include creating content for the web and print, as well as coordinating occasional print projects. There will be opportunities to lead on specific projects and the role is integral to the successful management of the Student Voice Ambassador campaign.
They will also be expected to use performance analytics to measure the success of our conversion content, identify lessons learned and in turn use the results to inform future conversion activity.
Required skills and experience
We are looking for someone who has a creative approach to producing engaging copy for a variety of audiences. Strong writing and communication skills are essential for the role as well as experience of direct marketing techniques and customer relationship management techniques. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage your workload are key attributes for this role. Whilst previous experience of working in the higher education sector is not essential a willingness to learn and understand how the University and the sector operate is key to success in this role.
