The Team
This role is part of the YSJ Global Team at our York campus. YSJ Global is multi-disciplinary directorate that consists of operational teams including International Student Recruitment and Conversion, Overseas Partnerships, Marketing and Communications, Admissions, Visa and Compliance and the International Programmes Team. Our core function is to progress the international social mobility of students at York St John University.
The Role
YSJ Global is seeking a diligent and proactive CAS Officer to join our Global Recruitment team. This essential role focuses on supporting the accurate and timely issuance of Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) for international students, ensuring compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations and university policies. The CAS Officer will play a key part in facilitating a seamless visa application process for applicants, contributing to the wider international student recruitment strategy.
Working under the guidance of the Global CAS Manager, the CAS Officer will be responsible for conducting thorough pre-CAS checks, processing student visa applications, and ensuring the accuracy of CAS data within student records systems. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication skills.
The CAS Officer will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Global Recruitment, Admissions, Finance, Data Quality, and Student Records, to maintain data integrity and support a positive student experience. Additionally, the role involves liaising with overseas recruitment agents and applicants, providing clear guidance on visa documentation requirements, and assisting in process improvements to enhance the efficiency of CAS operations.

Required skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in international admissions, visa compliance, or a related administrative function within higher education. A strong understanding of UKVI regulations and student visa processes is highly desirable.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data management are essential, as the role involves processing and verifying critical student information.
The role also requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including students, university departments, and external partners. Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the needs of international students are key attributes for success. Prior experience using student record systems, such as SITS would be advantageous.
