An opportunity has arisen for an additional Deputy Chair of the Quality and Standards Committee (QSC), created to support the work of QSC throughout the 2024/2025 academic year.
QSC oversees the application of all University regulations, policies and procedures in respect to academic quality and standards. QSC assists the Education Delivery Board (EDB) (formerly Teaching and Learning Committee), in discharging its responsibilities for academic quality and standards.
The Deputy Chair of QSC will deputise for the Chair and will work closely with them to oversee the functions of the committee, ensure all members have the opportunity to contribute, and to support the progression of actions delegated from EDB and those raised through the committee.
This role is available to academic staff at Level 6 who have relevant skills and experience. They may be present or former members of Quality and Standards Committee, or have equivalent experience from another organisation. The secondment is equivalent to one and half days per week (i.e. 0.3 FTE for full-time staff), the funding for which will be transferred to the successful candidate’s School or Department.
The successful candidate will undertake this role alongside their substantive post. Candidates must secure permission from their head of school/department's prior to applying.
This appointment is fixed-term until 31st July 2025. Hours of work are part time (11 hours).
