This role is open to current student at the University of Leeds or those who have graduated within the last two years.
This role will be based on the university campus. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The University of Leeds Libraries are one of the major academic research libraries of the UK. The Libraries has some of the most significant cultural collections in the UK and in the world. These collections are a unique research, teaching and engagement asset.
Cultural Collections & Galleries is an integral part of the Library and has responsibility for the care of, access to and development of the art, manuscript, archive and rare book collections of the University. Five of its premier collections have been awarded Designated status, i.e. recognised as having outstanding international importance by the Arts Council. The department also operates two public galleries, Treasures of the Brotherton and The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery, which delivers a bold exhibition programme drawing from active research, the collections and the University's diverse audiences. The Brotherton Research Centre supports hundreds of teaching sessions and researchers from all levels every year.
The Brotherton Library also hosts the Digital Creativity and Cultures Hub (DCCH), a joint venture between the Libraries and Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute (LAHRI) to support and accelerate Digital Humanities research and scholarship.
This is an exciting time for the libraries. We are in the midst of major projects to modernise and accelerate our vision for 2030, Knowledge for All, and to ensure our cultural collections are an asset for the local and global communities to benefit from. One of these major projects is Digital Library Infrastructure Project (DLIP), to modernise our cultural collections infrastructure and workflows, and to enable new forms of collections based/led research and scholarship to proceed.
We are looking to recruit a student or recent graduate to this role who can support and help deliver user engagement activities that will enhance our knowledge and our collective understanding of the possibilities of IIIF (International Image Interoperability Framework) in relation to our Cultural Collections. The internship is an exciting opportunity to work with our collections and to develop your digital skills in a supportive environment. Whilst based in the Library you will also be supported by the Digital Creativity and Cultures Hub (DCCH).
