We are now seeking a Director of International, a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for driving the University’s international strategy, reputation and growth. Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Growth Officer, you will lead our work across student recruitment, global partnerships and international engagement, ensuring Brighton’s global presence is distinctive, influential and aligned with our strategic priorities.
About the Role
As Director of International, you will:
Lead ambitious international student recruitment growth, grounded in market insight, data and a customer-focused approach.Develop and deliver a coherent global partnerships and transnational education framework that enhances our academic reach and commercial opportunities.Strengthen Brighton’s international profile and brand, building networks, alliances and influence across the sector.Champion an excellent, inclusive international student experience throughout the entire learner journey.Shape and lead a high-performing international team, fostering collaboration, accountability and a culture of innovation.Provide robust governance, financial oversight and risk management for all international activity.You will work closely with colleagues across Schools and Professional Services, representing the University at the highest levels in the UK and overseas, and helping to realise our global ambitions at scale.
About You
We are looking for a strategic, visionary and commercially astute leader with:
Deep knowledge of international HE markets, recruitment cycles and TNE models.A track record of delivering growth and diversification in international recruitment.Significant experience developing international strategies and managing complex global partnerships.Exceptional influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills.Proven success leading high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.Strong analytical capability and commercial judgement, with confidence in data-led decision-making.A commitment to delivering an outstanding, inclusive experience for international students.Why Brighton?
