We have an exciting opportunity to work at #TeamEMR as a Duty Maintenance Manager, based at the East Midlands Control Centre in Derby.
Reporting to the Fleet Operations Delivery Manger, you will be the single point of contact to provide real time technical support to front line teams for train faults and failures, working closely with the Duty Fleet Manager and Service Delivery Control team to return trains into service efficiently and safely.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing immediate support and advice to drivers, train crew and other members of the team in the event of a train fault or failure in service.Working as part of the Control Team managing the running and maintenance of the class 158, 170 and 360 fleets.Working closely with the Maintenance Depot teams to ensure failures are rectified promptly to minimise delay and prevent cancellationsLiaising with the Engineering Teams to provide data on the fleet status and performanceMaintaining a log of incident defects, vehicle histories, faults and defects, and work done by maintenance staff.Managing the technical response to train failures working with the depots and mobile technicians to get our customers moving as quickly as possibleTo be successful in this role you will have:
Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to analyse data and implement changes based on the informationAbility to influence, motivate and work within a team Good IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office packagesA mechanical or electrical qualification at NVQ Level 3 or above and experience working in a maintenance or production environment are both essential to the role. Knowledge of Rolling Stock and prior experience in the railway is preferable, but training can be provided.
Our team is ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 364 days of the year, so you will need to be able to work 12-hour shifts across these times.
If you successfully pass all stages of the recruitment process, you'll be placed into our talent pool for a maximum time of 12 months until a vacancy becomes available. Once you have a place in the pool, you will not need to re-apply for the vacancy again for a whole 12 months.
