We have an exciting opportunity to join the Talent Pool as a Duty Resource Center Manager. In this role you will direct and lead all aspects of the Resource Center function ensuring the delivery of a safe and punctual delivery of the train service.
Based at our Bateman Street Location in Derby
The Duty Resource Center Manager will:
Manage day-to-day deployment of all safety-critical and front-line staff to ensure the safe and punctual delivery of the train service.Monitor real-time staff availability and proactively allocate relief or spare resource to mitigate short-notice shortages.Ensure all deployed staff remain fully compliant with route, traction and working-time requirements, escalating any risks as appropriate.Work collaboratively with Control to re-plan crew during disruption, ensuring train services remain robust and that contingency plans are enacted effectively.Communicate duty changes, disruption updates and relief arrangements to staff promptly and professionally.Support incident response by arranging crew cover, transport, and redeployments during operational events.Record and report on staffing issues, including shortfalls, overtime usage and disruption-related resource impacts, providing clear handovers to colleagues.Maintain a strong customer-focused ethos by taking resourcing decisions that minimise cancellations and protect service delivery.Contribute positively to a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture, role-modelling the organisation’s values while supporting Resource Centre teams.Conduct first line chain of care as requiredEstablish a leadership style to promote EMR’s vision and example of values in order to build a culture that integrates the Resource Centre Staff activities and focuses the business on deliveryBe responsible for monitoring sickness levels of Traincrews and providing timely reports to the functional ManagersCompetes payroll on the night shift.Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with great interpersonal skills, clear thinking and organisational ability. The ideal person will be able to retain detailed knowledge of train crew conditions of service and local Depot codifications. An appreciation of Health and Safety legislation and understanding of the disciplinary procedure would be an advantage.
Please note this role involves shift work which covers a 24 hour period.
