The Opportunity: Quality Engineer

Bilfinger UK is seeking a dedicated and skilled Quality Engineer to join their esteemed team. This role is pivotal in upholding the company's commitment to excellence and plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring that all engineering and construction activities meet stringent quality assurance requirements and comply with international standards.

Key Responsibilities and Advantages for Your Career Path:

  • Uphold Quality Standards: You will be responsible for a broad spectrum of QC Engineering tasks, ensuring strict adherence to quality assurance protocols. This includes supporting the provision of Lifetime Quality Records, System Information Sheets (SIS), and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) documentation. This hands-on involvement will deepen your understanding of critical project documentation and its lifecycle.
  • Technical Support & Expertise: Provide vital quality-related technical support for projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to hone your problem-solving skills and develop a reputation as a go-to expert in quality engineering.
  • Industry Standard Knowledge: Gain and apply knowledge of essential quality management systems such as ISO9001 (Quality Systems) and ISO27001 (Information Security). Proficiency in these globally recognized standards is highly valuable and will significantly enhance your professional profile.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with E&I Quality and Commissioning Engineers, Project Engineers, and Construction Operatives. This collaborative approach fosters a rich learning environment and allows you to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Liaison and Coordination: You will have the opportunity to coordinate and provide guidance on E&I Quality requirements, as well as liaise with 3rd party E&I inspectors. This exposure to external stakeholders and independent verification processes will broaden your experience in managing and overseeing quality control.
  • Continuous Improvement Focus: Actively identify and raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs), contributing directly to the company's operational enhancements. You will also work with Client’s QA departments, providing exposure to client-side quality management.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: A significant aspect of this role involves identifying and resolving quality issues, often through detailed root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions. This is an excellent avenue for developing your analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Drive Process Enhancement: Contribute to the identification of opportunities to improve product and process quality, and crucially, reduce the cost of poor quality. This strategic contribution will be recognized and valued, positioning you as a proactive contributor to business success.
  • Contribute to Technical Capability: Play a part in enhancing the overall technical capabilities of Bilfinger UK. This means your contributions will have a lasting impact on the company's expertise and service delivery.
  • Project Delivery Support: Support daily/weekly completion meetings with Completions Managers, giving you insight into project milestones and the critical steps involved in project handover.
  • Safety Culture: Contribute to and support the existing, strong workshop HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) culture. Working in highly regulated industries means a strong emphasis on safety, which is a crucial skill to develop and maintain.
