What This Role Entails:

As an Engineering Technician - Processing, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing critical breakdown support for a range of pharmaceutical assets and processes within aseptic manufacturing facilities.
  • Conducting thorough investigations to identify root causes of issues, utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proactively leading and executing continuous improvement initiatives and projects, leveraging lean and manufacturing best practices such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM).
  • Collaborating closely with production operators to deliver essential equipment training and coaching, ensuring operational excellence.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

To excel in this role and advance your career, consider the following qualifications and experience:

  • Essential Foundation: A recognized Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent is a must. Additionally, an ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering field is required.
  • Broad Technical Expertise: Proven experience across Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation disciplines, encompassing both maintenance and fault-finding, is crucial.
  • Aseptic Environment Acumen: While not strictly essential, familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) & SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) procedures is highly desirable, as is experience in working compliantly within these frameworks.
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement Mindset: A strong understanding and practical application of methodologies like TPM, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement will be a significant advantage.
  • System Proficiency: Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP PM, and knowledge of IT systems including Drawing/Document Management Systems, Microsoft Office, Building Management Systems, PCs, and PLCs will be beneficial.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience or knowledge of Project and Change Management processes can further enhance your contribution and career progression.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Any experience with pressure systems, HVAC, or utilities is also a valuable asset.
