The role
An exciting opportunity for an Engineering Workshop Technician within the Faculty of Engineering. The role is essential for supporting undergraduate teaching, manufacturing specialised components, and maintaining the seamless operation of the faculty's engineering workshops.
You will play a pivotal role in the hands-on education of undergraduate students, providing technical support for practical sessions, guiding students in applications, and ensuring the safe operation of workshop equipment. Additionally, the technician is responsible for manufacturing custom components required for research and teaching projects, as well as maintaining and repairing engineering equipment.
About you
The successful candidate will have an Advanced City & Guilds or BTEC Higher National certificate/Diploma in an Engineering subject and served a recognised Engineering apprenticeship. Experience in full range of conventional and CNC machine tools and an understanding of Health and Safety legislation and issues in a workshop setting are essential.
