Job Description Job Title EUROJET Functional Engineering Lead Working Pattern Full Time Working location Munich, Germany based at the EUROJET headquarters What you will be doing This is a great opportunity to work within a Rolls-Royce customer environment. You will be representing the interests of EUROJET on the EJ200 programme. The role is to assist EUROJET Technical Director to deliver functional packages of work that satisfy consortium requirements. Interfacing with other EUROJET Engineering Departments and Partner Companies and assuming responsibility for defining, monitoring and controlling technical programmes. This is a role fulfilled by Rolls-Royce within EUROJET co-ordinating Performance, Controls and Engine Health Monitoring Engineering activities across the consortium. Responsibilities You will be accountable for the delivery of the following on behalf of EUROJET: Lead and chair the Partner Company sub-groups for Performance (SG-A1) and Controls (SG-A2). Providing technical guidance to the Engine Health Monitoring specialist sub-group (SSG-EHM). Develop and maintain relationships with Eurofighter, NETMA/Nations and partner companies and assist in the prioritisation of work. Act on behalf of Rolls Royce within EUROJET and as focal point for EUROJET work packages to be delivered by the SG-A1 and SG-A2 working groups, utilising the partner company technical experts and ensure that applicable processes are maintained and complied with. To deliver the agreed technical programmes to specification, within agreed programme timescales and budget and ensure that all activities are fully compliant with EUROJET procedures. To approve all EUROJET technical documentation relevant to engine performance, control and EHM system activities and represent EUROJET at technical meetings with NETMA nations and EUROFIGHTER when required on performance and controls related issues. Work with the Partner Company teams and Technical Leads to define technical strategies and programmes of work and ensure delivery of validated technical solutions, defined in agreed statements of work. This role will be based in Munich, Germany and the candidate will be expected to work from the EUROJET headquarters and there will be opportunities for travel, visiting the partner companies in their home countries. Qualified to at least degree level in relevant discipline or equivalent and it is anticipated that the successful candidate will have Chartered status (or equivalent). Have at least 10 years concurrent industry experience and knowledge of gas turbines, engineering standards and processes, preferably with specific knowledge in engine performance, controls & monitoring and in-service support. To demonstrate experience of technical leadership, developing and maintaining effective relationships, being able to apply problem solving techniques, effective requirements management and design evaluation. Be able to work under pressure, working to tight short-term deadlines and self-motivated with a positive attitude to work. Excellent communications skills in the English language are essential, both in written and verbal forms. Demonstrated ability to work at a high level within an engineering organisation and to manage and deliver engineering programmes, preferably with experience of working in a multi-national partnership environment.
