Finance Desk Applications Development Manager – Fixed Income Tech

Finance Desk Technology is part of Fixed Income organization within Citis Markets Technology. The Team works closely with the Citi Global Finance Desk and focused on Repo trading activity. The suite of Finance Desk applications provides position management, trade capture, electronic trading, market risk processing and reporting. This is supported by a mixed technology environment consisting of client-server applications, developed in Java, Angular and C#, with services running on Linux servers and Cloud Containers. This provides unique opportunity to work closely with the business stakeholders while building towards the strategic technology roadmap.

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis, stakeholder management and programming activities.Responsibilities:

Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end resultsClose engagement with senior stakeholders and technology partners . Participate in key business initiatives primarily focused on Market Risk and Position/Inventory Management.Contribute towards improving the Dev Ops CI/CD Pipelines and Strategic Architecture.Drive technology roadmap for finance desk. Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users.Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issuesEnsure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standardsIntegrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goalsProvide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sourcesInfluence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessaryAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

Prior experience working with Capital markets in Fixed Income and Repo processing.Experience with Market Risk, eTrading and Funding is necessary.Prior experience with Capital Markets Trade Capture Front to Back flows is preferred.Experience of working with traders and senior management in both technology and business.Experience in applications development with Spring boot/Microservice-style.Experience with Relational Databases like Oracle, MSSQL.Experience with Messaging and Caching frameworks such as Kafka and Gemfire/Ignite.Experience with Cloud Technologies.Experience in management and building Global teams.Experience in working with distributed teams situated globally in different time-zones.Flexible and adaptive, team player.Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to take ownership, drive strategy and well organized.

Education:

Degree educated (Masters preferred) or equivalent experience in a similar role
