In this increasingly electronic and competitive landscape, Citi is a major key player.The Fixed Income eTrading team is responsible for Citis electronic connectivity and distribution platform, enabling our Rates business to keep its market-leading position. Having a platform that provides exceptional and dependable trading experience is crucial for the bank.

We are looking for a talented and passionate developer to continue to evolve our next-generation trading applications.The role requires a detailed understanding of software design/best practices along with a strong technical ability.This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work on high profile trading applications. The team works closely with end users gaining direct exposure to the fast-paced world of front office trading and finance.

Role Overview

Fixed Income Technology is responsible for delivering state of the art technology solutions to the Global FI business. Initiatives includes deliveries across sales, risk, pricing, algorithmic trading, execution, trade processing, and much more.Citi is one of the top global dealers on the street in Fixed Income and contributing to that success is a great opportunity to develop cutting edge technical skills with strong career opportunities.

What will you do/ Responsibilities

Designing and developing front office eTrading applications to the trading businessWorking directly with Traders, Sales, and Quants to contribute towards the future direction of the platform.Driving engineering standards and continuing to strive for best – whilst utilizing creativity and innovation to improve the technical capabilities of the platform and ensuring it remains stable, flexible, and maintainable.Enhancing our automated testing efforts and optimizing our UAT processMentoring strong and energetic team in EMEA regionServing as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analystsTroubleshooting challenging performance and scalability issuesEngaging with business users in London and across Europe (Paris, Milan)Assisting in third line support during core trading hours

Key Skills and Experience required

Extensive programming experience with an Object-oriented language (preferably Java), Multi-Threading and any relational databaseSolid architectural understanding of enterprise applicationsUnderstanding of computing science fundamentals – concurrency, algorithms, data structures, design patterns, etc.

Preferred

Experience with Java Core, Spring framework and LinuxExperience developing large financial software trading systems with substantial hands-on development experience in building systems with an attention to optimizing and tuning performance, while also demonstrating critical thinking skills related to re-use, scalability, and troubleshooting.Experience of delivering solutions with ION Trading, Transficc or other recognised connectivity vendorsKnowledge of major Fixed Income Financial Products (e.g. corporate bonds, ETFs, Interest Rate Swaps etc) and Broker/Customer Markets electronic trading flows.Experience of KDBExperience with modern software development practices such as Agile development, test-driven development, and continuous integration and continuous delivery.Worked in an Agile globally distributed team using tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Sonar & Team CityWorked with tools such as IntelliJ, Gradle, etc.,Experience on JSON/XML and REST service
