WHAT TO EXPECT The Global Manufacturing Engineering function is responsible for the delivery of the manufacturing process and production facility in support of the Cycle Plan programmes and other IO strategic projects.

The scope of the function includes the creation and ownership of the Technical Specification, the design and procurement of the Industrial process facility & equipment, and the installation and commissioning at the Manufacturing Plant to achieve flawless programme launch through delivery of cost, quality and timing targets.

This role focusses on the technical delivery of the Electric Drive Units (EDU) in all cycle-plan programmes across all global JLR plants.

The role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in the ‘end to end’ Manufacturing Engineering delivery of Unit Programmes. GME Technologies hold a unique position as the key conduit between the Product. Engineering Teams and the Manufacturing Operation teams at the Plants.

This role will bring you into contact with an extensive number of areas in the business and provide you with an opportunity to develop and utilise your transferrable project management, technical and communication skills in both the planning and delivery of our new products.

THE ROLE Key Responsibilities

Lead the EDU GME-Propulsion delivery team by building a culture bult on the Creators’ Code foundations and our Reimagine Modern Leadership ethos Ensure the team have the Capacity and Capability to deliver the business plan for the FY Ensure the team have the requisite training to deliver the business plan Deliver all uPCDS gateway deliverables in accordance with uPCDS v5.0 Drive a Safety and Wellbeing culture within the team and adhere to the GME Safety Operating Model Effectively communicate key issues and statuses to all relevant stakeholders Support the Off-Cycle workstreams with SME’s from the team Provide the leadership of the cross functional team to help resolve any outstanding technical, functional or Manufacturing issues Support the on-going improvement of the GME and GME-P operating model Develop your team’s skill set, promoting continued personal development and providing coaching and guidance as required Continually seek to improve employee engagement and satisfaction

Key Performance Indicators

Achieve all manufacturing deliverables as outlined in uPCDS Deliver programmes within overall cost targets – MCPU, Capex etc Benchmarking data to be used extensively in the programme for all appropriate measures Achieve all Programme launch targets – WCPA/ OPR/ RFT/ FTT/TA Deliver to the programme timing Coordinate, prepare and present out programme status in all key reviews -Showcase, LMM, PTG, ELS Delivery of facilities adhering to all legal and JLR standards

Leading significant capital expenditure programmes including, estimating, cashflow forecast and financial risk management Creating and maintaining effective supplier relationships across multiple commodities (global) Product creation and linkage to design for manufacture of complex technologies Leading a technical delivery team Project management Using data driven problem solving techniques Working in a new product launch environment Working in a quality focussed role Delivering a robust Quality Cascade Microsoft package elements (Power Point & Excel) Demonstrable experience of process improvement and working in a project support role Proficient effective communication and organisational skills Experience in running a manufacturing operation AGILE working in Automotive environment

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Propulsion Technology EDU & eMachine Automotive manufacturing or automotive environment Experience of metric and reporting delivery to support programme delivery Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
