Job Description Senior FP&A Manager - Engineering, Technology & Safety (ET&S) Derby / Hybrid, Full time Why Rolls-Royce? An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Senior FP&A Manager within the newly formed Engineering, Technology & Safety (ET&S) team. ET&S includes 14,000 of our wonderful engineers and is responsible for c£2bn of engineering spend on research and development and products per annum. This is a demanding but rewarding role and you will be joining the team at a challenging and energising time as we drive to beat our mid-term targets as set out in our Capital Markets Day in November 2023. Reporting directly to the SVP Finance for ET&S and acting as a partner to the Divisional Finance Leads for ET&S, this role is pivotal in ensuring that we meet our performance expectations, by providing key insights from our financial plans and long-term forecasts and where we need to make interventions to senior leadership. What you will be doing: In this role you will provide insight on financial performance to support decision making and performance management, determining where interventions are required: Installing strong planning, forecasting and reporting for ET&S, which is agile and relevant You will often be looking ahead and pre-empting what is needed to engage others Defining the right level of reporting and forecasting information to make a difference Analysing actual results and variances of our engineering spend and associated external funding Identifying and influencing interventions to optimise performance/ achieve targeted KPIs Articulating financial performance in the context of external data and business drivers: including simplifying accounting and data to clearly explain performance; providing inputs to senior stakeholder reports including Board report, CEO and CFO content, which are supported by strong proof-points and audit trails Collaboratively and constructively challenging our colleagues to help deliver financial commitments and in ensuring fair and balanced messaging Monitoring and driving compliance against group requirements: standards, guidance, instructions, timetables; ensuring analysis is robust in the context of group policies and consistency across other reports Working closely with our transformation team to ensure changes to our new ways of working as sustainable and relevant Who we are looking for: Being a part of Rolls-Royce you’ll know we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. Professionally qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent - essential Highly analytical with a curious mindset Able to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and teams Senior Finance leader who can influence across different levels of the organisation and drive outcomes Solid grasp of the accounting policies, and construct of financial statements Strong communication and presentation skills (written, verbal); Able to distil and simplify complex data and information A strong planner Delivery focussed Organised, flexible and resilient The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
