Head of Medical Affairs for TH Biopharmaceutical Products and Frontier Markets

Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming patient care? As the Head of Medical Affairs for TH Biopharmaceutical Products and Frontier Markets, you'll spearhead medical initiatives that align with AstraZeneca's objectives, driving innovation in medical evidence planning, scientific communications, and patient engagement. Collaborate with medical colleagues across the network to ensure seamless implementation of our integrated Medical Affairs Plan. Your leadership will be pivotal in bridging the gap between science and commercial goals, ensuring our products make a meaningful impact.

Accountabilities:• Lead the delivery of medical initiatives as agreed with line manager and matrix team leader.• Identify opportunities to generate evidence for AZ products and understand disease state management.• Act as a medical reviewer for observational research and Phase IV protocols.• Navigate internal governance processes for medical affairs evidence generation proposals.• Support Externally Sponsored Research Organization (ESRO) therapeutic area (TA) Director with research topics and review and evaluation of Externally Sponsored Research (ESR) proposals.• Deliver interpretation and maintain integrity of medical evidence.• Disseminate scientific evidence to support product value messages.• Ensure compliance standards for external audiences.• Contribute to scientific publication contents.• Support regional medical affairs teams in study proposal governance approvals.• Maintain a patient focus in design and interpretation activities.• Keep knowledge of best practices up to date.• Develop key messages supporting brand strategy.• Support Medical Excellence leads in developing Medical Academy content.• Collaborate with Global Medical Information to identify content needs.• Lead development of scientific communications activities.• Act as patient insight expert in assigned disease and therapeutic area team.• Incorporate patient insight into key documents across development and medical.• Build patient insight capability by working closely with cross functional teams (CFT).• Facilitate patient insight knowledge sharing across regions and functions.

Essential Skills/Experience:• Masters degree in a scientific discipline• Experience in relationship and stakeholder management (3PS-Payer, Provider and Patients)• Project and relationship management experience• Experience with Evidence generation and clinical trial methodology• Business Acumen foundation knowledge• Financial Management foundation knowledge• Matrix team functionality specialist• Fluency in written and spoken English

Desirable Skills/Experience:• Advanced scientific or medical degree• Greater than 5 years' experience of Medical Affairs within a pharmaceutical industry• Understanding of the latest technical, regulatory, policy and real-world evidence generation dimensions• Budget management experience• Experience delivering country medical affairs plans
