Therapeutic Area Medical Partner for Respiratory & Immunology

Job Description: Therapeutic Area Medical Partner is a Field-based position responsible for developing and enhancing professional relationships with healthcare professionals, driving scientific partnership initiatives with the healthcare societies, working with the Medical Therapeutic Area Lead to develop national strategies for healthcare thought leaders, and is responsible for coordinating medical activities with internal and external stakeholders to advance clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.

Typical Accountabilities:

Identifies and engages top-tier key customers with scientific expertise and business knowledge of AstraZeneca's marketed products and compounds in developmentDevelops peer-level relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs),K ey Decision Makers (KDMs), and researchers consistent with Scientific and Medical Affairs strategy and objectivesIdentifies pre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators in alignment with the goals of Clinical Development activities and Therapeutic Brand Teams initiativesProvides actionable information that enhances the value and appropriate use of AZ products to internal stakeholdersResponds to customer inquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of AstraZenecas products and servicesDelivers appropriate clinical and scientific information that clinically differentiates AstraZeneca productsSustains expertise in disease state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscapeServes as a member of the assigned Therapeutic Area Core Team and leads initiatives that impact national strategies for a specific therapeutic areaServes as a member of the Extended Leadership Team and leads initiatives that impact a specific Therapeutic Area and cross-Therapeutic AreasWorks with cross-functional leaders to coordinate Medical activities and optimize the use of resources.Integrates scientific and medical knowledge from key opinion leaders, brand teams and literature to identify and forecast trends that might impact AZ's business across brandsAdheres to internal standard processes and complies with regulatory and compliance requirements

Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine or equivalent4 – 6 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry and at least 2 years as a Medical Science LiaisonThorough knowledge of the regulatory environmentDoctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine or equivalentEstablished track record of basic or clinical researchDemonstrated expertise in the drug discovery and drug development process
