University of Staffordshire is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Supervisor to join our vibrant hospitality team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional with proven supervisory skills to play a key role in delivering exceptional catering services across multiple university sites.
You will be responsible for optimising our hospitality operations and booking systems, leading a team of hospitality assistants, and ensuring our coffee brand standards are consistently met. Working closely with the Catering Manager, Executive Chef, and suppliers, you will support retail strategies, manage seasonal promotions, and deliver memorable experiences for our students as well internal and external clients.
This role also requires strong computer skills and the ability to work confidently with digital systems, including hospitality booking platforms, EPOS tills, finance systems, including processing purchase orders and invoices. You must be able to generate analyse and date reports to support decision making and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and motivate hospitality assistants across multiple university sites to deliver high-quality catering services.
• Optimise the use of hospitality and booking systems to streamline operations and improve customer experience.
• Maintain and implement brand standards for coffee and beverages across all service points.
• Support the Catering Manager in monitoring retail purchase trends, meeting with suppliers, and selecting retail products aligned with customer needs.
• Working within a team ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, allergen management protocols, cash handling procedures, and financial controls.
• Process purchase orders (POs) and manage invoice reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy.
• Oversee the operation of EPOS tills, generating back-of-house reports for performance tracking and planning.
• Lead the planning and execution of seasonal promotions and advertising campaigns to enhance catering visibility and engagement.
• A long side the Catering Manager and Executive chef collaborate with internal and external hospitality clients to plan and deliver events, ensuring a seamless experience.
• Attend supplier meetings with the Executive Chef and Catering Manager to support menu development and service innovation.
