Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (Secondary Physical Education)

You will be joining a successful and ambitious Institute, which in 2024 was graded Good by OFSTED in all phases and is one of the DfE’s pilot providers for the Teacher Degree Apprenticeship. In the 2025 Guardian Subject League tables we were ranked 5th for Education. 

We are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic academic to lead teaching on our secondary PGCE Physical Education course. In addition this post holder will also contribute to our courses in the primary age phase, in particular our PGCE Primary with Physical Education award.

We have a vacancy for a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Secondary ITE. We’re looking for someone with high quality experience of learning and teaching secondary aged children.  We want a candidate that is passionate about the development of the secondary teaching workforce, and that will help us shape this new and exciting award.

Qualified to Masters level, and ideally Doctoral level in a relevant subject area, the successful candidate should also possess an appropriate teaching qualification.  Experience in leading Initial Teacher Education (ITE), school management and training would useful for this post.
