Salary: Salary starting from £36,124 to £40,476 per annum

Grade: Grade 6

Hours: 37 hours per week

Place of work: Adur and Worthing Council offices including Commerce Way, The Shoreham Centre and Worthing Town Hall.

Adur & Worthing Councils are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Housing Officer to join Adur Homes Tenancy services team. This is an exciting time to join us, as we have recently undergone a redesign of our services, and you will be integral in shaping and delivering our new approach.

As a Housing Officer, you will play a vital role in managing the full lifecycle of tenancies, adopting a person-centred and preventative approach. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing Adur Homes properties within a defined neighbourhood area. All aspects of estate and tenancy management. Rental income management, including supporting tenants with rent payments and managing arrears. Ensuring tenancy compliance and taking appropriate action where necessary. Maintaining the quality and safety of our properties and neighbourhoods. Anti-social behaviour management. Lettings and supporting tenants through their tenancy. Participating in a duty rota and out-of-hours service.

What you’ll need:

We are looking for individuals who are resilient, adaptable, and passionate about

delivering excellent services to our residents. You will need:

A good standard of education (GCSE or equivalent). Understanding of housing legislation. CIH level 3 (desirable) Experience of working in a housing management service. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to manage a high volume and complex caseload.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Standard DBS clearance.
