JOB DESCRIPTION:

Alter Domus is seeking a IT Workspace & Collaboration Technology Leader to join our Enterprise Technology & Services team. This role owns the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of the digital workplace, with Microsoft 365 at its core, ensuring a secure, reliable, and high-quality Digital Employee Experience (DEX) for a global user base.

This position combines deep technical expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem with leadership, stakeholder engagement, and DEX best practices. You will be responsible not only for operating and securing our Microsoft 365 environment, but also for shaping how employees collaborate, access information, and get support—driving productivity, usability, and satisfaction.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, a service-oriented mindset, and a proven ability to improve end-user experience through data, automation, and modern workplace practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Workspace & Collaboration Leadership

Own the end-to-end digital workspace experience, including productivity, collaboration, endpoint management, and identity. Act as a senior technical leader and subject-matter expert for Microsoft 365 and collaboration services. Partner with IT Operations, Security, and Business stakeholders to align workspace capabilities with business needs. Microsoft 365 Platform Ownership Lead the administration and evolution of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Defender, and Entra ID. Define and implement standards, governance, and best practices for collaboration and productivity tools. Digital Employee Experience (DEX) Apply DEX practices to proactively measure, monitor, and improve end-user experience across devices, applications, and collaboration tools. Leverage telemetry, analytics, and user feedback to identify friction points and drive continuous improvements. Balance security, compliance, and usability to ensure an optimal employee experience.

Collaboration & Integration

Enable effective collaboration by integrating Microsoft 365 services with existing enterprise systems and workflows. Guide adoption and optimization of collaboration patterns (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) to improve productivity and knowledge sharing. License & Service Management Oversee Microsoft 365 license procurement, allocation, and optimization, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance. Manage service lifecycle, roadmaps, and feature adoption planning.

Security & Compliance

Implement and maintain security controls and CIS-aligned best practices, including Conditional Access, identity protection, data loss prevention, and threat protection. Partner closely with Security teams to align workspace security with organizational policies.

Monitoring, Reporting & Automation

Monitor platform health, performance, security events, and DEX indicators. Produce actionable reporting and insights to guide decision-making and service improvements. Drive automation through PowerShell and Graph API to improve efficiency and reliability.

Support Enablement & Documentation

Provide advanced support and guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 teams. Develop and maintain clear, high-quality documentation, operational runbooks, and end-user guidance. Contribute to training, enablement, and change management efforts.

Continuous Improvement

Stay current with Microsoft 365, security, and digital workplace trends. Recommend and implement enhancements that improve resilience, usability, and employee productivity.

Technical Competencies

Advanced expertise in Exchange Online: Mail flow, hybrid configurations, transport rules, connectors, accepted domains Strong troubleshooting (message trace, header analysis) Strong knowledge of Identity & Access: Conditional Access, Identity Protection, MFA, Single Sign-On Intune / Endpoint Management: Device compliance, Windows Autopatch & Autopilot Security baselines, configuration profiles, update rings, app deployment Microsoft Defender XDR ecosystem: Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office, Cloud Apps Automation & Scripting: PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API queries, automation scripts, bulk provisioning Directory Services: Active Directory and Group Policy management Proven experience in End User Experience Support, delivering high-quality, customer-focused service Knowledge of the Apple ecosystem (JAMF) Experience implementing or optimizing collaboration and productivity tooling (project management, ITSM, knowledge management).

YOUR PROFILE:

Minimum 8+ years of relevant IT experience with 5+ years in management, with strong exposure to modern workplace technologies Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, global environment Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and customer service excellence Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills Self-motivated and able to thrive in a project- and outcome-driven environment
