Harper Adams University is looking to recruit a part time Administrator based within the Princess Margaret and Elizabeth Creak Laboratories. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing a welcoming, efficient, and customer-focused service, providing administrative support to the Laboratory Team, and the Laboratory Manager in particular. The role requires exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with a focus on ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Laboratory Team. Normal working hours will be 24.75 hours per week, 9.15am – 3.15pm with one hour for lunch Monday to Thursday and 9.15am – 3.00pm with an hour for lunch on Fridays.
Experience/Qualification required
The successful candidate will have, as a minimum, a good general standard of education with a minimum of 5 or more GCSEs at grade C or equivalent and above, including English and Maths (or equivalent training and experience) as well as prior experience of working in an administrative capacity and in a customer-facing role. They will have an excellent standard of written English, high levels of accuracy in their written work, be able to take accurate and comprehensive minutes and will be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students and external colleagues. They will be self-motivated, friendly and approachable, with excellent organisational abilities and a flexible approach to work.
