The Opportunity:

• Impactful Work: You will be instrumental in delivering major new onshore transmission infrastructure, including overhead lines, underground cables, and substations, as part of the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment Portfolio. This is your chance to directly contribute to national climate goals.
• Leadership and Growth: As a Lead Project Manager, you will report to a Project Director and manage a team of project and senior project managers. This role offers extensive opportunities for leadership development and the chance to mentor and guide a dedicated team.
• Strategic Importance: You will work closely with the Transmission Management team to ensure the highest safety standards and regulatory compliance throughout project lifecycles – from refinement and construction to commissioning.
• Stakeholder Engagement: A key aspect of this role involves building and nurturing strong relationships with contractors, stakeholders, communities, and the public, fostering sustainable project delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: You'll have the opportunity to identify and implement business improvements, contributing to the ongoing evolution and efficiency of the Capital Delivery team.

Key Considerations for Candidates:

• Location Flexibility: The role is based in one of SSEN Transmission's Scottish locations: Inverness, Aberdeen, Perth, or Glasgow. This offers a choice of vibrant cities across Scotland from which to operate.
• Competitive Remuneration and Benefits: The salary range is £66,100 - £99,100, dependent on your skills and experience. This is complemented by a car/allowance, a performance-related bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

• Extensive Project Experience Required: Candidates should possess substantial experience in leading project teams through the delivery phases of large or major infrastructure projects.
• Commercial Acumen: A strong commercial background is essential, including experience managing large, multi-million-pound contracts (in excess of £100m), with a preference for experience with NEC contract forms.
• Technical and Professional Foundation: While not always mandatory, holding or working towards professional registrations or qualifications such as Chartered Project Professional or Chartered Engineer will be highly advantageous.
• Driving Requirement: A full, current driving licence is essential due to the need for travel between offices and project sites.
