Lecturer in Physiotherapy

Job at University of Greenwich in Greater London, SE10

Background

The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. Supported by our simulation strategy and resources, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses leading to registration in allied healthcare, nursing and midwifery professions. The University has invested over £8 million in the development of a state-of-the-art simulation centre, which further enhances our record of teaching, research and knowledge exchange innovation. We also have a wide portfolio of post qualifying provision including a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. The School currently runs a successful undergraduate physiotherapy programme in its portfolio and are looking to appoint experienced physiotherapy educator/s.

The Post

We welcome applications from individuals seeking part time roles. The post holder/s will work with our physiotherapy team and employers to deliver our undergraduate physiotherapy programmes (including an apprenticeship offer). The programmes have been designed collaboratively with key stakeholders; the post holder will work closely with our stakeholders on a continuing basis.  You will also have opportunity to participate in research and knowledge exchange activities coordinated by the Faculty’s Institute of Lifecourse Development (ILD). The ILD brings together researchers and practitioners from Health, Education and Human Sciences to tackle a range of lifecourse related issues, and has been instrumental in our recent success in the 2021 REF.

The Person

You will be an experienced physiotherapist with a background in education and or research to teach across our pre-registration physiotherapy programme. Your clinical expertise will ideally be neurological and/or musculoskeletal. You will have a passion for education, thrive on seeing students succeed, have ambition and an inquiring mind. You will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, as well as contribute to faculty wide research and enterprise activities. The University has an established career framework which offers opportunity for promotion through an annual application process.
