This is an exceptional opportunity to join the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) – Off-wing Operations as an NDT Level 3 Process Owner. This pivotal role offers the chance to significantly impact safety, quality, and efficiency within a critical aerospace maintenance environment.

As the Business NDT Level 3 Process Owner, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the highest standards in our NDT operations. You'll provide vital technical support to NDT Level 2 technicians and operational teams, while also taking ownership of the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of NDT processes and methodologies. Your work will be instrumental in meeting demanding business and customer requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost, Deliver Rate, and Lead Time (SQCD).

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Technical Authority and Influence: This role places you as a Technical Authority for all NDT activities. You will have the autonomy to define and approve NDT procedures, write inspection instructions, and declare process limitations, directly shaping best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement Focus: You will be empowered to drive a culture of Continuous Improvement by reviewing component manufacturing sequencing and ensuring the application of appropriate tests throughout the manufacturing cycle. This offers a chance to innovate and optimize existing processes.
  • Career Development and Specialization: The position offers a clear path for those with NDT Level 3 expertise, particularly in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Eddy Current Inspection. While Ultrasonic and X-Ray inspection are optional, they present excellent avenues for further specialization and skill enhancement.
  • Contribution to Safety and Quality: A core aspect of this role is ensuring Product Safety and driving a Quality culture of zero defects. You will be directly involved in investigating and resolving safety-related issues and ensuring adherence to rigorous standards.
  • Impactful Work in a Vital Sector: By joining Engine Overhaul Services, you will contribute to the longevity and performance of vital aerospace engines, playing a crucial role in maintaining global aviation safety and reliability.
  • Commitment to Excellence and Innovation: Rolls-Royce is undergoing a multi-year transformation to become a high-performing, competitive, and growing company. This NDT Level 3 Process Owner role is integral to that vision, offering the chance to be part of shaping the future of engine maintenance.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Rigorous Standards and Compliance: This role demands a meticulous approach to adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and a commitment to the "Zero Harm" program. You'll also be responsible for ensuring compliance with company, legislative, and technical policies, including specific internal systems like RRMS and SABRe.
  • Process Ownership and Documentation: A significant part of your responsibility will involve the detailed documentation and maintenance of NDT procedures, work instructions, and inspection manuals. Experience in writing and approving technical documentation is essential.
  • People and Performance Management: You will be responsible for maintaining NDT Inspector approvals, including conducting appraisals and performance monitoring. This requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively guide and assess technical personnel.
  • Mandatory NDT Level 3 Expertise: A strong foundation and certified NDT Level 3 in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Eddy Current Inspection is a prerequisite for this role.
  • Educational and Professional Background: Candidates are expected to possess a Professionally Qualified Engineer status (e.g., UK minimum HND/foundation degree or equivalent) and, where applicable, a recognized national or international engineering accreditation (e.g., IEng or CEng).
  • Commitment to Inclusivity: Rolls-Royce is dedicated to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace. Your ability to thrive in and contribute to a diverse environment will be an asset.

This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced NDT professional looking to take on a leadership role, drive significant improvements, and contribute to the cutting-edge technology and enduring legacy of Rolls-Royce. If you are driven by technical excellence and a commitment to safety and quality, we encourage you to explore this exciting prospect.
