Are you a seasoned NDT professional with a passion for shaping technical processes and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality? This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a critical role as an NDT Level 3 Process Owner within our Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) – Off-wing Operations team. This position offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on our operational excellence and contribute to the cutting-edge advancements that define our company's future.

As the Business NDT Level 3 Process Owner, you will be instrumental in providing vital technical support to our NDT Level 2 technicians and the broader operational teams. Your expertise will be crucial in developing, maintaining, and continuously improving our Non-Destructive Testing processes and methodologies. The goal is to ensure these processes not only meet but exceed business and customer expectations across safety, quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time (SQCD).

Key Advantages for Potential Candidates:

  • Technical Leadership & Influence: This role places you at the forefront of NDT technical authority. You will be responsible for writing inspection instructions, declaring process limitations, and approving NDT procedures and work instructions, directly shaping how critical inspections are performed.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: You will actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing manufacturing sequencing, ensuring appropriate tests are conducted, and driving processes towards best practice. This is an opportunity to innovate and refine our existing methodologies.
  • Product Safety & Quality Assurance: A core aspect of this role is ensuring product safety and quality. You will investigate and resolve safety-related issues, drive a zero-defect culture, and ensure adherence to stringent company, legislative, and technical standards.
  • Professional Development & Growth: This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth. You will gain deep insights into engine overhaul operations, work with diverse stakeholders, and maintain essential approvals for NDT inspectors, including performance monitoring and vision requirements.
  • Impactful Contribution: By ensuring the highest standards in NDT, you will directly contribute to the reliability, safety, and performance of our critical engine components, upholding the legacy of excellence and ingenuity our company is known for.
  • Future-Forward Vision: Joining our multi-year transformation program means you'll be part of an organization dedicated to becoming a high-performing, competitive, and growing entity. Your contributions will be vital to shaping this future.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Level 3 Expertise is Essential: A strong foundation in NDT Level 3 certification is a prerequisite, particularly in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Eddy Current Inspection. While Ultrasonic and X-Ray Inspection are optional, they are advantageous.
  • Engineering Foundation: Candidates should possess a recognized engineering qualification, such as a Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g., UK minimum HND/foundation degree or equivalent) and ideally a national or international engineering accreditation (e.g., UK IEng or CEng).
  • HSE and Product Safety Focus: A thorough understanding and commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, as well as a rigorous approach to product safety, are paramount. You must be adept at raising, investigating, and resolving safety-related issues.
  • Process Ownership & Documentation: This role demands meticulous attention to detail in developing and maintaining technical documentation, including inspection instructions, procedures, and manuals. Your ability to declare process limitations will be critical.
  • Auditing & Compliance: Experience in conducting internal NDT audits and ensuring compliance with quality requirements (e.g., NUCAP) will be highly valued.
  • Collaborative Environment: Success in this role requires strong collaboration skills, working effectively with NDT Level 2 technicians, operational teams, Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders, and Manufacturing Process Owners.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: Our vision is to foster a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace where individuality is valued, and diverse perspectives drive innovation. We encourage candidates who embrace these values.

This role is an exceptional opportunity for an NDT professional looking to elevate their career within a dynamic and forward-thinking organization. If you are driven by technical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement, we encourage you to explore this exciting prospect.
