Job Description Manufacturing Services Technician - Coppersmith Derby An exciting opportunity has become available for Manufacturing Services Technician – Coppersmith The focus in this role will be to provide support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing services engineer to ensure the organisation objectives and goals are delivered. The Manufacturing Services Technician - Coppersmith is responsible for performing manufacture, repairs and maintenance on experimental engines, manufacturing assets and all associated production equipment located in production or assembly, experimental & test facilities. What you will be doing: - Perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive pipework and fabrication tasks across a broad range of manufacturing assets and production & experimental equipment across a plant, site or business, ensuring that all outputs are safe, available and capable for use when required. - Utilise hand tools and pipework fabrication machinery to deliver customer requirements. - Use drawings & data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards pipework fabrication - Collect, organise, and analyse data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required. - Read and interpret machinery and component drawings, experimental engine paperwork, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to enable customer requirements to be met. - Identify and recommend improvements to pipework fabrication procedures. Research and implement improvements. - Suggest improvements to work instructions to optimise the maintenance strategy - Coordinate workload and fabrication activities with customers, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, Development engineers, Slave hardware owners and Production Operators. - Coordinate their activities with Production Staff, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, and Production Operators. - Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and restore equipment performance to standard. - Work alongside/support equipment OEM and Development engineers as required - Consistently support asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high performance standard. - Support the effective induction of new team members and support cross-training of other team members. - Utilise problem solving skills and ability to make sound recommendations based on judgement, training and previous experience. - Able to process Work Orders and pull reports from the Computerised Maintenance Management System - Safely operate site specific equipment as required with appropriate training Who we are looking for: - NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant time served apprenticeship - Good understanding of fabrication machinery principles and operation - Basic IT literacy - Understanding of local and regional HSE Standards and regulations - Able to work to engineering drawings Join us & Power our future Pioneers of Power Please be aware that the priority will be given to employees identified as being at high risk.
