We have a great opportunity for a Metering Ecosystem Lead. The Metering Ecosystem Lead will serve as the primary interface both internally and externally across the systems, organisations, and partners responsible for maintaining the functionality of our smart meters. This role will represent Residential Metering in industry forums like AltHAN, collaborate with key service infrastructure providers such as Smart DCC, and engage with technology partners like ENSEKâsharing the challenges, solutions, and future vision that enable British Gas to remain at the forefront of the smart metering industry. About the role: Coordinate industry engagement across key stakeholders like DCC, utilities, and meter manufacturers to ensure alignment with British Gas priorities, consistent messaging, and effective follow-up on actions. Support executives with communication materials for industry forums and define governance structures for internal decision-making, including roles, responsibilities, and delegated authority. Lead Metering Infrastructure approach to incident and problem management, ensuring timely reporting, structured remediation, and continuous improvement across the estate. Drive strategic change planning by prioritising Metering Infrastructure initiatives, securing cross-business buy-in, and representing metering interests in broader change forums. Oversee Metering Infrastructure involvement in business and industry trials, establishing clear governance and ensuring coordinated execution. Here what weâre looking for: Skilled in managing multiple strategic projects across complex environments. Experienced in performance and service level management within energy or telecom sectors. Strong smart metering expertise, including tech, infrastructure, and compliance. Proven track record in driving continuous improvement and resolving operational issues. Strong analytical capabilities for data-driven decision-making. Clear and persuasive communicator across all stakeholder levels, including senior leaders. Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and risk mitigation. Trusted relationship builder with internal and external partners. Promotes collaboration through transparent and productive engagement.
