WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR (Import Export Operations) is a unique team within JLR that has a core function to buy, move and sell products around the world in support of JLR’s global manufacturing. IEO’s primary role is to process and ship non localised production parts from incumbent suppliers to global JLR plants. To enable this, we have established Export and Import Sales Centres (warehouses) in the UK and China which are managed by Operations Managers.
The role of the Operations Supervisor will primarily be to oversee the operational management of the various IEO Outbound and Shipping Operations, with an objective of ensuring trading division meets plant schedule demands by management of the material through the Sales Centre (warehouses), repack into suitable packaging, load of containers or vehicles, and documentation for shipping.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Meet customer order fulfilment via On Time in Full measurement, or Just in Time measurement as each customer requires. Liaise with customers / stakeholders to ensure upstream processes and hand overs are in place and allow for an efficient and agile supply chain, working with, and influencing the customer / stakeholders to improve as required Supporting the teams, both JLR and 3PL to ensure they all have clear targets and development plans that will meet the department and company objectives. Develop cross-functional team responsibility for the IEO Supply Chain working with the Inbound Supply and wider teams to ensure end to end accountability for optimal and resilient inventory levels across all materials. Maintain accurate records management and stock control to maintain robust data integrity for schedule planning. Manage FIFO and change management of parts, to minimise obsolete stocks working with the Claims team to minimise impact to TD and customer. Manage packaging, decanting and labelling so they meet JLR & customer specifications.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Background in MP&L / Supply Chain Supervision / Team leadership. Experience in CI activity Excellent understanding of inventory verification processes, BOM management & change control. Experience of managing an LLP/ Warehouse operation. Understanding of inbound logistics processes and export requirements. Experience of SAP Must hold a full driving license, Role may require UK and occasional European and International travel.
