WHAT TO EXPECT
You will be leading the Industrial Operations Technical Centre within the West Midlands Stamping Operations. The IOTC is a world class Toolroom capable of providing machining and Tooling support across all JLR’s facilities. From jigs & fixtures to unique machined assemblies. The team has 38 associates with a variety of skills include Toolmaking, Machinists, welders, programmers, designers, costings & Apprentices. You will lead this team to provide vital toolroom support to JLR’s facilities, grow the people & the facilities capabilities through innovation and technology.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Provide day to day supervision to the toolroom to ensure a safe and efficient performance is delivered within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People & the Environment framework • Comply with Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards / risks and ensuring corrective action implemented and ensures the team receive appropriate training • IOTC to comply with IATF 16949 & ISO 45001 • Day to day management of all toolroom equipment • To communicate and work with the area where the project request originates to update on delivery & quality • Lead the development of training plans for toolroom personnel including delivery of technical, safety and process training programs
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
• Experience of leading people is essential • A thorough understanding of skill gap analysis • Knowledge and familiarity with key processes, facilities and technologies used throughout toolrooms • Demonstrable experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving • Demonstrate experience of working with trade unions • Flexibility to work shifts when necessary
