Part time Pay and Forward Allocation Clerk

Salary £26,218.20 per annum We are seeking a reduced hours working Assistant Pay and Allocation Clerk at Bromley Garage, who will process all pay related matters for drivers and engineers and miscellaneous payments for some salaried grades. This post reports to the Garage Operations Manager and is a key role in the support team in the day-to-day running of the garage. The main duties of this interesting and very busy post will include: responsibility for calculating, where necessary, and inputting data in order that employees in scope receive acute and appropriate pay; providing administrative assistance, as and when necessary, and preparing documentation for auditing pay and allocation purposes; calculating overtime, deductions, sickness/absence and work rest days whilst working to strict deadlines; carrying out forward allocation within agreed budgetary and cost effective guidelines; inputting and monitoring the allocation of Work Rest Days and the seven day work sheet, to ensure compliance with the Driving Hours and Working Time directive; interpreting pay increases and transfer these into spreadsheet data, adjusting pay accordingly; processing process sick pay and other associated procedures; dealing with payroll matters relating to new employees, transfers and leavers; preparing and maintaining employees holidays to an agreed budget set by the garage management team. drafting letter/memos to staff on behalf of the Garage Operations Manager; answering the telephone, maintain garage filing systems, produce stationery orders and undertake photocopying as needed The post holder should have knowledge of computer systems (including spreadsheets and Word) as well as knowledge of pay processes and practices. Applicants should also possess sound personal skills including; communication, self-motivation, accuracy and quality – these are vital skills in this payroll related role. The ability to plan and prioritise work is also essential. The salary for this post is £26,218.20 per annum for a 24-hour working week. The role will require 3 day working per week, which will include Saturday working each week, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, rest days to be agreed with the line manager.
