The School of Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a Placements and Study Abroad Manager who will maintain and develop our placements portfolio and manage placements and study abroad support for students across our undergraduate courses.
Life Sciences has a broad portfolio of courses which are currently undergoing redesign, and the School is seeking to grow its placements provision for existing and new courses. The post-holder will make an important contribution to the successful implementation of the University’s Education and Student Experience Strategy and School Teaching Strategy, providing opportunities for students to be successful in gaining valuable global careers and educational experiences in industry or academic settings, both in the UK and internationally.
The post-holder will lead and support the identification and development of a range of UK and international opportunities for our course portfolio. They will build successful relationships with external agencies and institutions, as well as with academic and professional services colleagues within the university, ensuring compliance with health and safety and risk assessment policies and procedures. The post-holder will regularly present the portfolio of opportunities to prospective and current students, to ensure successful student recruitment and enhance the student experience.
You will need proven interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, as well as previous experience of working with a range of stakeholders, including students or young adults. You will be highly organised, innovative and able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced and varied environment. You will have experience of working effectively as part of a team to achieve goals and deliver strategic objectives. As someone who is proactive and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills, you will drive forward enhancements and new initiatives that will contribute to successful graduate outcomes.
This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours).
The University of Nottingham supports hybrid working with arrangements agreed locally. In practice this means the team balances the working week with some time spent on campus and some time spent working from home to support flexibility, recognising that individuals and teams can be effective given the choice of environment.
