Key Considerations for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Flexibility is Paramount: This is not a static role. The ideal candidate will be highly flexible, comfortable with moving between different areas of the Humber ports and terminals. • Plant Machinery Proficiency: Proven experience in operating plant machinery is essential. This includes expertise with forklifts (up to 25T), Skid Steers/Bobcats, and Mobile Hopper operation.
  • Essential Qualifications: A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport are required due to the need for mobility.
  • Technological Aptitude: The ability to comfortably navigate IT equipment, such as smartphones and handheld terminals, is necessary for efficient operations.
  • Commitment to Safety: A strong understanding and adherence to Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work are vital. Active participation in Toolbox Talks is expected.
  • Operational Awareness: Understanding and contributing to the achievement of targets, ensuring continuous operations and safe shift handovers are key accountabilities.
  • Physical Requirements: The role involves cleaning of equipment and the site, and general port duties, requiring a level of physical fitness.
  • Pre-Employment Screening: Be prepared for a medical assessment and pre-employment screening to Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). ABP maintains a zero-tolerance policy for substance abuse and conducts random screening.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to build a stable and rewarding career within a vital sector.
