As a Pricing Manager at Barclays Payments, you will be at the forefront of shaping pricing strategies for payment acceptance and commercial card issuing. This is a hands-on role where you will not only optimize existing pricing models but also have the autonomy to pioneer new and innovative approaches. You'll be working with high-profile, strategic clients, offering direct exposure to the Value Management leadership team and driving crucial commercial conversations with Corporate Bank Managing Directors. This position is ideal for someone with:

  • Strategic Impact: Own and optimize pricing models, directly influencing the commercial success of the Corporate Bank's payments business.

  • Innovation & Growth: Pioneer new pricing strategies and challenge existing processes, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Be recognized as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your area, shaping the direction and approach of pricing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities and Daily Impact:

Your day-to-day will involve a blend of strategic thinking and practical application. You'll be responsible for:

  • Delivering expert pricing for high-profile, strategic customers in close partnership with Relationship Directors.
  • Leading the end-to-end pricing process, collaborating with Coverage, Product, and Finance teams.
  • Deeply understanding and optimizing existing pricing models, challenging assumptions, and inputting innovative ideas.
  • Maintaining and developing pricing models in line with the overall pricing strategy, informed by market trends and best practices.
  • Challenging commercial assumptions at a senior MD level and driving impactful conversations.
  • Contributing your team's work to critical pricing forums.
  • Developing and providing expertise and relevant dashboards to inform senior decision-making.

What We're Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you will need a strong foundation in pricing and a commercial mindset. Essential qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in a dedicated pricing role.
  • A solid understanding of a business's income and cost drivers (P&L).
  • Demonstrable experience working effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.

Additionally, the following skills would be highly advantageous:

  • Previous experience within the Banking or Financial Services sector.
  • Experience with payment services or broader industry knowledge.
  • An ability to effectively prioritize and manage a diverse workload.

A Note on Career Development:

Barclays is committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. You will have the opportunity to hone your skills in areas such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital technology. The expectations for this role, whether as a leader or an individual contributor, emphasize collaboration, influencing decision-making, and driving positive outcomes for the business. You'll also be expected to embody Barclays' core Values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, Stewardship) and Mindset (Empower, Challenge, Drive).

This is a compelling opportunity to join a leading financial institution and play a pivotal role in shaping its pricing strategies. If you are ready to take on new challenges and drive significant commercial impact, we encourage you to explore this exciting position.
